In this teaching, R. Menachem Mendel of Vitebsk shares his understanding of true humility. As you can read in the final endnote, translating this teaching was difficult and we can't be 100% sure we got it all right. At the same time, his concluding section is especially challenging as he simultaneously talks about having a living teacher while also knowing that one cannot simply emulate another, no matter how learned or enlightened, but rather must find one's own way.
